Week 7 Power Rankings

A weekly peek at the NFL from top to bottom.
NFL Power Rankings
Last Week: 1
New Orleans SaintsRipped the Giants defense to shreds. Proved they’ve deserved the top spot the last few weeks. |
Last Week: 3
Indianapolis ColtsMoved up a spot on a bye week. Now they get a tune up game in St. Louis. |
Last Week: 4
Minnesota VikingsMore and more impressive every week. Averaging over 30 points a game. |
Last Week: 5
Denver BroncosMcDaniels deserves a lot of credit. No one believed when they were 3-0, but now they sit at 6-0 with wins over Dallas, New England, and San Diego. |
Last Week: 2
New York GiantsThe defense needs to rebound against another high powered passing attack. Look for them to dominate. |
Last Week: 8
Atlanta FalconsTravel to Dallas next week followed by a trip to New Orleans. We will know a lot about this team in 2 weeks. |
Last Week: 10
New England PatriotsWelcome back Brady-Moss! Can they repeat that performance? I say yes. |
Last Week: 6
Philadelphia EaglesMinor set back with Oakland. Need to get back on track in Washington before the Giants come calling. |
Last Week: 7
Cincinnati BengalsHighly talented team that hasn’t showed up for all 4 quarters of a game this season. A loss to a dangerous Texans team isn’t much of a setback. |
Last Week: 12
Pittsburgh SteelersBeat a weak Browns team, but the important part is they are getting healthy. Look for them to knock off the Vikings this week. |
Last Week: 9
Chicago BearsDropped one to a very good Atlanta team, but have 4 winnable games in a row with Cincinnati, Cleveland, Arizona, and San Fransisco. |
Last Week: 13
Green Bay PackersDetroit and Cleveland should be a perfect warm up for Brett and the Vikes. |
Last Week: 15
Dallas CowboysA chance to prove themselves at home this week when the Falcons come calling. |
Last Week: 11
Baltimore Ravens3 losses in a row is never a good thing. They get a bye to breathe, and then it’s back to the grind with Denver. |
Last Week: 19
Arizona CardinalsThey bring a two game win streak into Giants Stadium. Fitzgerald is finding his stride. |
Last Week: 16
San Fransisco 49ersDefense needs to bounce back against a hot Texans offense. Gore and Crabtree are ready to roll. |
Last Week:20
Houston TexansBig win over Cincinnati. This team can beat any team on any given week. |
Last Week:17
Miami DolphinsCan they pick up where they left off two weeks ago? Clock control will be important for keeping Brees and Co. of the field. |
Last Week:18
San Diego ChargersWell they look good on paper. LT looked better. Can’t afford to drop a game in Arrowhead. |
Last Week: 14
New York JetsLooks like the rookie wall is hitting early. A win in Oakland is nearly a must. |
Last Week:22
Jacksonville JaguarsMJD is great, but an overtime field goal to beat the worst team in football isn’t. A week off to regroup can only help so much. |
Last Week: 23
Carolina PanthersDeAngelo gets rolling but the passing game is miserable. Steve Smith is probably going to punch someone. |
Last Week: 20
Seattle SeahawksBig win one week, slaughtered at home the next. The inconsistency isn’t going to take them far. A week off to regroup and find some new uniforms. |
Last Week: 25
Buffalo Bills3 points against the Browns followed by a win on the road against the Jets. Sanchez threw them 5 picks, Delhomme can top that. |
Last Week: 28
Oakland RaidersEven though it wasn’t pretty, a win over the Eagles is a quality win. |
Last Week:31
Kansas City ChiefsGrab their first W against the miserable Redskins. Can they keep it rolling against a struggling Chargers team? |
Last Week: 24
Washington RedskinsScored 6 points against the Chiefs. That is not good. |
Last Week:26
Detroit LionsSlowly moving toward the bottom. Team is much better with Stafford in thelineup. |
Last Week:29
Cleveland BrownsThe defense is competitive, but the offense is not. Can’t even beat Swine Flu. |
Last Week:27
Tennessee TitansI finally have given up on them. |
Last Week:30
Tampa Bay BuccaneersJosh Johnson isn’t the answer. Time to find out if Josh Freeman is the future, I think he’s not. |
Last Week: 32
St. Louis Rams0-7 is inevitable…they aren’t beating the Colts. |

The Seahawks admittedly don’t deserve to be terribly high on this list.
But having the Jaguars above them?
Seattle stomped them into the ground. Seattle also stomped St. Louis into the ground.
Neither of these are particularly impressive feats – but Seattle should be above the Jaguars on this list – even if only one slot above them.

This post was mentioned on Reddit by akuzin: It is 59 Point – FTFY. But I do think that 3 week stretch is going to be a huge test for this team, the Jets defense embarassed Brady earlier this year, I do not think they will be able to hold us again to …
How can the Falcons be #7 and Pats at #8 after the whoopin’ the Patriots gave their offense??
