NFL Legend Merlin Olsen Dies at Age 69
Merlin Olsen, the legendary Pro Bowl defensive tackle, has passed away at the age of 69.
Olsen played his entire 15-year career with the Los Angeles Rams starting in 1962. He was best known as part of the Rams “Fearsome Foursome” defensive line (see video below) along with Deacon Jones, Rosey Grier and Lamar Lundy.
Olsen had been fighting the cancer mesothelioma which can be associated with exposure to asbestos after being diagnosed in 2009.
The 14 time Pro Bowler had a second career after his football in television. He appeared on “Little House on the Prairie” as well as on NBC doing analysis for NFL games.

Merlin Olson was great player who had tons of class. I remember him towards the end of his playing career as he was on of many great defensive players fro the Los Angeles Rams.
