Lions Mr. Glass Out For Year With Shoulder Injury

Although I poke fun at Detroit Lions Matthew Stafford for being the NFL’s Mr. Glass I really do hope he is able to get his shoulders healed up because the Lions need to win and they need a QB to get them there. When Stafford is healthy he is a good kid with some skill.
Unfortunately, Stafford is in his second year in the league and is already injured again. He played in 10 of the 16 games last year before going on IR for a shoulder injury. He’s only played 3 games this years after being injured twice. The recent hit, which was more Stafford falling down on his shoulder, may end his short season and question his return to the team. If Stafford cannot piece together a healthy season his time in Detroit will not last long.
Obviously, the Lions will give him some time to let Dr. James Andrew and his team of surgeons try to piece Stafford back together again. The injury is being labeled as a Grade 3 separation and Stafford is not expected to play again this year, according to reports.
The Lions will have to rely on backup Shaun Hill who has been out with a broken arm but should be ready for this week. If that doesn’t work out I hear that Erik Kramer is available.
