Al Davis is Still Insane, Fires Tom Cable

Al Davis and the Oakland Raiders informed coach Tom Cable on Tuesday that they will not be bringing him back as the coach of the team next season. This comes in the wake of Cable lifting the Raiders to their best record in eight years this season.
The Raiders swept their division with a 6-0 record but struggled outside of the AFC West going 2-8. Cable’s effort to rise the team out of the cellar have improved each year. For the first time in awhile we can all look at the team and say they’re competitive.
But that’s not good enough for Davis. Even though the team is improving many critics pointed out that Davis would not want to exercise a two-year, $5 million option on Cable’s contract for 2011 and ’12. And like clockwork Davis sprung into action.
Cable was told to leave and rumors have offensive coordinator Hue Jackson back at the helm for the team. The swift move by Davis may be an attempt to secure Jackson as a head coach before another team, like the San Francisco 49ers, grab him up.
Personally, I think they should bring Art Shell back.

I was shocked when I heard that! Tom Cable was moving the organization forward for the first time in I don’t know how long! At least the Chiefs aren’t getting past the Ravens, my only comfort. I have to work but will be watching it at my job in HD with DISH Network.
