Titans Rookie Patrick Hill Saran Wrapped to Field Goal Post
The subject of rookie hazing is fresh in the news as some NFL teams have started to curb or completely stop the rookie initiations. But hazing is still going on in Tennessee as Titans rookie Patrick Hill finds out.
Teammates Saran Wrapped Hill to field goal post and stuck his helmet on backwards just to remind him where he stands on the depth chart.

Bradford and the 83-yard Opening Play TD
The St. Louis Rams must be feeling good about their decision to grab Sam Bradford with last year’s #1 pick. Despite fears of injuries and the lack of size, Bradford had a stellar rookie season for a very bad team. He took them from one win to 7 and is only helping his cause as a future elite QB with plays like this.
The opening play of the game against the Tennessee Titans saw Bradford stretch the field and catch the Titans flat-footed with a fantastic 83-yard TD pass to Brandon Gibson who is so wide open that he almost falls over trying not to get too excited.
Shortly after that play Bradford had a bit of bad luck as one of his passes gets intercepted. It’s actually on the receiver as Mike Simms-Walker flubs a pass which then turns into a tip drill. The ball bounces around in the air before coming down in the hands of the Titans Alterraun Verner.
Scotty McGee And The Super Long 5-Yard Punt Return
On paper it will show that Scotty McGee of the Jacksonville Jaguars returned this punt for 5 yards. In reality he probably ran around 150.
McGee, the 2nd year dynamic return man from James Madison University, shows some crazy athletic skills here and may have a 2nd career as a pinball after he shows he can bounce off defenders.
Maybe he should get some kind of extra yardage for effort because after McGee runs to the right he quickly finds out there are no lanes open. He switches gears and heads back the other way.
Actually, I’d say he bounces off all the players at least one. If the Atlanta Falcons are wanting to head to the Super Bowl this year, they’ll have to learn how to wrap up. But at least they only kept the return to 5 yards.
NFL Blows Instant Replay
The NFL’s definition of the ‘process’ of catching a pass apparently is more vague than last year when we saw this crap call that took away a Calvin Johnson catch against the Bears. Even though that one was on the bubble, there’s no excuse for letting this call get away.
During the preseason game between the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks, Mike Williams of the ‘Hawks makes this catch along the sidelines. The call was reviewed and upheld as a catch despite being bobbled and hitting the ground.
I’m not sure what counts as a catch in the NFL anymore because this doesn’t look like one to me. I personally like the idea of Instant Replay but if you’re gonna blow easy calls you might as well do away with it. And while the NFL is at it, take away a couple of dozen rules and let the players just play the game. You shouldn’t have to have a 3-page checklist to review every play.
Terry Bradshaw Surprised That Hawaii Is A State
Fox Sports broadcast the NFL Preseason match-up between the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers and thought it would be a good idea to bring former Steelers QB Terry Bradshaw back to town. Turns out that might not have been a great idea because it seemed like Bradshaw spent his time in the booth getting hammered on Iron City Beer.
But to his credit Bradshaw, who reminds us of a Simpsons character, just isn’t that bright but he did come across during the broadcast more like a ditzy bimbo than a professional NFL broadcaster. Drunk or dumb, who knows but here’s a clip of Bradshaw engaging in a sad debate about Hawaii’s statehood.
University of Miami Taiwanese Animation Scandal Is Awesome
Shocking news erupted this week when the University of Miami was accused of serious rules violations. Convicted Ponzi schemer Nevin Shapiro has admitted giving illicit perks to dozens of University of Miami football players during his time as a booster. Among them, Shapiro provided student athletes with prostitutes and hotel rooms. He even paid for an abortion when one of the hookers turned up pregnant. Players also received cash bonuses for on-field performance, including injuring rivals.
Sorry Hurricane fans. It sounds like your program is going to rival SMU as the most corrupt and heavily penalized institution in history. We know that because the scandal got it’s own Taiwanese animation made. It is only legit if it gets the Taiwanese Animation treatment.
What will happen to Miami? Who knows but hopefully it will bring out some more great cheap animation.
If NFL Players Were Simpsons Characters
Two of the best things in the fall are the start of the NFL season and the new Simpsons season. With the 2011 football season just a few weeks away we thought the world needed a look at NFL Players if they were Simpsons characters.
Each player is assigned their Simpson character from the show that might explain their personality or look. Which Springfieldian is your favorite NFL player?
NFL Sunday Ticket Coming to PS3!
DIRECTV and PlayStation are announcing big news this week for fans as the two companies are pairing up to bring NFL Sunday Ticket to the popular PS3 gaming console. And you won’t even have to be a DIRECTV customer to get the package. This just isn’t an add on for existing customers but it allows non-dish owners to get in on the out-of-market NFL games.
Don’t expect a price break for not having a dish, though. You will still have to pay a hefty sum of $339.95 for the service. It’s $5 more than having it through the dish but if you are a true NFL fan it’s worth it. You will get every game, except the local blacked out game.
And if you have ever priced going to a game lately, you’ll know you can buy the NFL Sunday Ticket for about the price of 2 people going to an actual NFL game. Sad, but true.
Oddly, the service is extra for existing DIRECTV customers to add it to their PS3 so if you’re thinking of adding the service and have it play in another room you’ll have to pony up an additional $50 to your existing DIRECTV bill. The PS3 acts as an additional receiver for your home.
Still, a small price to pay to watch games legitimately instead of streaming crappy feeds online or visiting a bar.
NFL SUNDAY TICKET is a DIRECTV-exclusive sports package that offers:
Up to 14 NFL games every Sunday
Full HD for every football game
DIRECTV’s Red Zone Channel
We know that PlayStation fans are huge sports enthusiasts, so adding NFL SUNDAY TICKET is the perfect complement to the PS3’s rapidly growing lineup of sports entertainment, including MLB.TV and NHL GameCenter. We’ll have more info, including a video tutorial and sign up information on the blog shortly. I hope you’re as excited for the football season as we are.

Your CFL Celebration of the Week
Last weekend, the Hamilton Tiger Cats faced the Toronto Argonauts in some CFL action and Hamilton receiver Dave Stala did a unique touchdown dance.
Nothing like celebrating with spinning yourself nauseous! Dave Stala, the creator of the ‘Hacky Sack‘ celebration, puts his own spin on the TD celebration with this fun move.
Jets Rex Ryan Freaks Out [VIDEO]
Someone needs a little timeout. During a loss to the Houston Texans 20-16, the New York Jets saw Rex Ryan in mid-season form in the first quarter during a drive when the right personnel wasn’t on the field.

Sexy Rexy, wearing his Dockers to hide his Tats, let his emotions fly after being penalized for too many men on the field. He slams his headset into the ground after trying to get a timeout and, if you can read lips, says a few colorful metaphors.
