Good Grief! Popcorn Being Sold for $20 at Super Bowl

February 5, 2012 – Capt. Gridiron

So if you think about it, there’s not bigger event aimed at commercialize and gouging than the Super Bowl. Ad rates on TV are the highest, tickets are near impossible to get, the halftime is plastered with ads and lasts an hour and forget about landing a decent price on a hotel room.

It’s a shame that people use the greatest event for the world’s best sport to rip people off. But that’s the price you get for one of the most watched events on TV.

Check out this pic taken from the Super Bowl at Lucas Stadium in Indianapolis where a “Souvenir” tub of popcorn, the only popcorn offered, is going for an outstanding $20!

Popcorn being sold for $20 at Superbowl!

A beer costs $11, which is outrageous but I’ve been to some games before in Atlanta and Baltimore and that price is a bit steep but not as outrageous as $20!.

The $6 soda is sad.

Just goes to show that if you can afford to go to a game you can afford to have a good time. [via Reddit]
