The NCAA released the first BCS rankings of the 2012 season and surprisingly Oregon was moved down to the #3 spot and Florida climbed up to #2. Alabama was no surprise at the top spot and rounding out the top 5 were Kansas State and Notre Dame. LSU is climbing back into the mix after taking out South Carolina this weekend while West Virgina saw their non-existent defense and similar offense cost them a shot at a National Championship.
Florida will not play Alabama this season, but they should meet in the SEC Title game which might open the door for Oregon to play for the title if they keep winning. The SEC s stacked so if the Tide and Gators keep winning they will increase their computer rankings over Oregon. Florida was not ranked this high in any national poll leading up the ranking but they ranked #1 in the computer ranking followed by Notre Dame.
How bad has the Big Ten become? Not one Big Ten school cracked the top 25 in the BCS poll.
