If you build it, they will come.

Lego fan and Colt fan Brian Alano ponied up some of his hard earned money to help create a LEGO replica of Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts and Super Bowl XVLI.  Over 30,000 of the little plastic toys were gathered to create the five-foot square tribute that is currently being showcased in honor of the Super Bowl.

[via INDYSTAR.com] When he heard Lucas Oil Stadium was on the drawing board to be built in Downtown Indianapolis, Brian Alano posed the idea of constructing a LEGO replica of the Colts’ new home to his wife, Becky.“I didn’t have any clue about the scope of how big it would be,” said Becky, 46.

“I asked her if I could build it,” said Brian, a 44-year-old engineer from Bloomington, Ind. “Lucky for me, she didn’t ask me very many questions.”

Like how much it would cost to order more than 30,000 LEGOs to construct his five-foot-square masterpiece. Brian won’t say how much he spent, just that it was costly. And it took him a long time. He started in April of 2006 and finished it in July 2009.

The LEGO Lucas Oil Stadium replica is on display this week on the third floor of the JW Marriott, media headquarters for Super Bowl XLVI. And it’s positioned in a perfect spot, with the real stadium visible in the background. The structure was on display at last summer’s Indiana State Fair. Fans will have to pay to see it at the JW Marriott — access today through Friday to the media floor where Radio Row is situated requires buying a $25 ticket.

Alano dedicated three years to the project and no detail was left out. There’s even a working TV screen and a crowd of Colts fans as well football players on the field. Crazy!

Oh, those sneaky Hollywood people. They had me going when I heard there was a rumor of a possible “Ferris Bueller” sequel. The beloved 80′s comedy staring Matthew Broderick and directed by the legendary John Hughes is a timeless dedication to the art of slacking off, something my generation knows all too well.

I knew since the passing of John Hughes a few years back that my dream of a “Ferris Bueller” sequel just wouldn’t happen. Thankfully, the folks at Honda decided to use their Super Bowl ad time wisely and dedicate a commercial for their new CR-V to the original “Ferris Bueller” movie.

Honda claims they have hid over two dozen references to the movie throughout the commercial. Some are obvious, some are VERY subtle. The 2011 NFL season was a fantastic journey that saw some of the best football played in years. Every team (except the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Indianapolis Colts) made for some great football moments and one fan has created a sweet video showing his favorite catches from the 2011 NFL season.

Clocking in at 8 minutes +, this video pretty much encompasses it all and if you dig it you can catch more of his awesome work at his website, The Vikings World.   This guy does a sweet job editing some nice videos. Hope he goes to town on some Super Bowl videos to get us excited for the big game.

Eli Manning’s postgame interview after the Giants upset the San Francisco 49ers include a clip of the younger Manning using the phrase ‘You Know’ 29 times in the two-minute interview. Just three more and he would match the 32 completions he had during the game.

Reporting for ESPN Espanol, a reporter interviews Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski in the locker room after their huge win over the Ravens that propelled New England to the Super Bowl.

Gronk went to Arizona State so you might think Big Gronk might have picked up some Spanish in his time there. Instead it seems he’s not much better than I am when it comes to the language.

The reporter talks to Gronk who does his best to interject some of the 16 Spanish words he knows into the interview.

The laces were [sorta] in. The Baltimore Ravens lose. Cundiff is Einhorn. A parody of Ace Ventura’s Ray Finkle showing what Billy Cundiff’s room might look like next season.

“Stop it, be an analyst not a douchebag.”

Terrell Suggs just earned a huge notch in my respect belt for calling out Tim Tebow lover Skip Bayless on ESPN.

I personally gave up on watching ESPN when games are not playing because they have turned into a Fox News version of sports and have lost a lot of integrity. Skip Bayless, the biggest troll in media,  is one huge reason why and it’s great to see clips like this pop up.

Check out at Suggs calls out Bayless for trying to turn around Suggs words to make a headline that doesn’t exist.

To keep things going on ESPN, Bayless turned to trolling kickers and blamed the NFL games for degrading themselves for keeping the position in the game. Yes, Skip wants to ban field goal kickers. I guess it beats his last attempt to rile up the crowd by banning centers and just requiring the ref to drop the ball on the field.

Tweeting at @RealSkipBayless, he wrote: “Honestly, I felt sorry for Suggs/Ray/EReed. Fought guts out, lost b/c a nonplayer missed easy kick. WHY I HATE FG KICKING. Ban it!”

Vikings kicker Chris Kluwe took the time to address the situation and call out Bayless for his obvious attempts to boost his own TV ratings. [via Fox Sports]

Kluwe, at @ChrisWarcraft, tweeted: “I know what we should ban! Uninformed opinions from (expletive) e-thugs who tear people down to try to generate ratings!”

Kluwe followed shortly after with: “Hey (expletive). Let’s not forget you haven’t done a single athletic thing in your life. Go french kiss a flamethrower.”

Kluwe: Now it’s just blatantly obvious that @RealSkipBayless is trolling. C’mon man. At least TRY to be subtle. #thatwouldrequireintelligence”

And then this: “I mean, how much (expletive) do you have to gargle to be that bad at your job @RealSkipBayless? #thatshowyoutrollsomeone, #icandothisallday”

Oh baby, talk about an awesome scenario. Who knew at the first of the year we would be looking at a rematch of one of the best Super Bowls ever instead of the Packers vs the Steelers.

The 2007 season ended with the perfect New England Patriots getting upset by the Giants in Super Bowl XLII. Eli and company drove down the field in the last minutes to grab an epic win and we might get another similar game.

That’s because of crappy special teams by the Harbaugh brothers the Giants and Patriots are going back to play each other in the Super Bowl.

And no one is happier than punter Steve Weatherford of the Giants. After holding the game winning field goal in OT, something his Ravens counterparts need to work on, Weatherford was caught running down the field yelling “We’re going to the f-ing Super Bowl!”

Baltimore fans are still in shock and I don’t blame them.  After holding in for a close game with the New England Patriots, the Ravens had a chance to go into overtime but Ravens kicker Billy Cundiff pulled a Scott Norwood after missing a 32-yard field goal with 11 seconds left.

Here’s one Ravens fan reaction to Cundiff missing the field goal.

Replays would show that the snap and hold were not perfect. Say what you will about Cundiff but the game is 60 minutes long and what happens in last 20 seconds isn’t what won or lost the game. The Ravens had several opportunities to take the game and they fought hard. I feel for Cundiff for being the brunt of the blame.

One young lady took the Packers playoff loss extremely hard and spent the night crying.

No, we’re not talking about Aaron Rodgers here (zing) but rather a Packer fan named Casey who spent the trip home from the bar, where they watched the Giants thump Green Bay, in an emotional fit.

It’s going to be a tough offseason in cheeseland as the mighty Packers now have to figure out if they need to fix that defense that can’t keep up with their offense or if they just need to spend the offseason teaching their receivers to learn how to catch a ball.

Either way, anything will help.
