We all know about him by now but the Panthers are vastly improved with Cam in the pocket. And when he’s running out of the pocket.

In the Panthers win over the Redskins 33-20 on Sunday, Cam makes another case (like he needed another) for Rookie of the Year. He didn’t have his best passing game but made some sick moves with his legs. Most of his 59 rushing yards came on this beautiful scramble in which Cam eludes everyone in a white jersey to run all over the field for a first down.

The 7-9 Seattle Seahawks showed the world on Saturday why everyone was picking them for the upset over the reigning Super Champs. OK. Just kidding. I’m curious if anyone saw this kinda win coming besides the die-hard fans drunk on the large beers from Qwest Field.

But give the Seahawks credit. They stood tall during their first playoff game under new head coach Pete Carroll and after a quick 10-0 lead by the Saints, thanks to an INT by New Orleans, the ‘Hawks got their act together and tried out this new thing they’ve heard of call an offense.

The Seahawks stunned New Orleans 41-36 in the opening game of the NFL Playoffs in a contest that many pundits wrote off as laughable at best due to the poor performance by Seattle during the last half of the season. After going 2-7 in the last part of the season and having an offense that was just horrible, Seattle tallied up 149 yards rushing, almost double their usual output, and Matt Hasselbeck tossed 4 TDs. He only had 12 on the season as a whole.

Yikes! Where was the great Saints defense today?

Beast Mode operator Marshawn Lynch activated at just the right time and rumbled off a 67-yard run in the 4th quarter that flat-out embarrassed any Saint fan out there. Sorry fans. Hate to pile on you all like that but that’s the type of D that gave the Seahawks their 9 loses. Not the Saints defense headed up by guru Gregg Williams that owned Peyton Manning last year in the Super Bowl.

Check out this video of Lynch running out the clock only to be patted down TSA-style by 8 Saints on his way to the endzone.

The play took so long that even QB Matt Hasselbeck had time to jump on his Rascal and drive down to the endzone to meet Lynch. It’s simply one of the best post-season runs we’ve ever seen. The whole team gets involved. And the best part is when Lynch just pushes Tracy Porter (#22) to the ground like a pest.

Get out of my way!

<object

If they had listened to the critics then this game would have been embarrassing. Thankfully, we saw it coming. Ooops….don’t click that link on second thought

With the win the Seahawks now are 8-9 on the season. Two more wins would put them in the Super Bowl and ensure them a winning season. Something to aim for.

<img

Thankfully, the Broncos drafted Tim Tebow and in just his second start we are seeing the results.

Tebow helped the Florida Gators to multiple Championships thanks to his love of the game. Critics complain about his mechanics but downplay what I consider his most valuable assets: leadership and heart. Tebow comes to play and you can see the emotion on his sleeve.

I mean it. Seriously. Click that image to the right of Tebow running to the endzone. Tell me he’s not smiling !

Check out his game-winning TD against the Houston Texans from Sunday night. Down 23-17 with a little over 3 minutes left in the game, Tebow gets the Broncos down to the goal line of the Texans. Thanks to some great passing by Tebow, the Bronocs were able to position themselves to take the lead. Throw in an endzone pass interference call against the Texans and you have the setup for a perfect Tebow highlight!

<object

With a 3rd and 2 on the Oakland 32-yard line what do you do?

If you thought about a Peyton Manning bootleg to grab the first down you would probably be one of the few people to consider that play. The Raiders most definitely did not see it coming as Peyton rumbled down the sidelines before sliding on the 3-yard line.

Why he went down is either he ran out of gas, wanted to end the game by running the clock down, or just thought he was going to be tackled. Who cares. The Colts won and if they win next week (or the Jags lose) they are in the playoffs.

The best part is the video of Peyton Manning running down the field which makes me feel good that I could come close to beating him running the 40. I probably still couldn’t beat him since I’m a lazy turd but at least it’s something I can compare myself to him at. Enjoy the video and no, it’s not in slow motion.

<object

That’s because I love it when the big guys rumble down the road.

Dan Connolly, who weighs in at around 310 pounds, takes the squib kick from the Packers with 2:16 left in the second quarter. The Pats are down 10 points and Connolly picks up the ball and flys by everyone before being taken down around the 5 yard line. The big guy was almost into the endzone before being pushed down.

Instant career highlight. Check it out.

<object

That didn’t matter because Jackson was able to find a seam and go all the way to the endzone to win the game in a comeback win for the Eagles.

One of the more entertaining games of the year saw the Eagles rebound from a 21-point deficit just midway through the 4th quarter. The Giants could have easily taken this game into OT had their punter, Matt Dodge, simply punted the ball away from one of the most dynamic players in the NFC.

Instead, Dodge kicked a line drive to Jackson and the rest is history. Perhaps so is Dodge’s career as a Giant…

<object

You know it’s an important video if someone has made a Tecmo Bowl version of the play. Here you go:

<object
