Oh baby, talk about an awesome scenario. Who knew at the first of the year we would be looking at a rematch of one of the best Super Bowls ever instead of the Packers vs the Steelers.

The 2007 season ended with the perfect New England Patriots getting upset by the Giants in Super Bowl XLII. Eli and company drove down the field in the last minutes to grab an epic win and we might get another similar game.

That’s because of crappy special teams by the Harbaugh brothers the Giants and Patriots are going back to play each other in the Super Bowl.

And no one is happier than punter Steve Weatherford of the Giants. After holding the game winning field goal in OT, something his Ravens counterparts need to work on, Weatherford was caught running down the field yelling “We’re going to the f-ing Super Bowl!”

The NFC Playoff game between the New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers might just go down in the books as one of the most exciting matches in postseason history. If you missed out on the game, primarily the last half hour, you missed a lot.

Earlier in the week we stated that that game would be great.

Look for this game to be one of those type of monumental showdowns. We might even get an updated version of “The Catch” this year as I see this game going down to the wire.

After the emotional game there was one of the moments that we all kinda went “did that just happen.” I mean, this is San Francisco after all and that’s OK if it did…

The New Orleans Saints had no problem with the Minnesota Vikings in their rematch of the epic NFC Championship from a few years back. Since those Favre-ish years, the Saints have remained competitive while the Vikings struggle to compete.

Wide receiver Lance Moore of the Saints is one of the reasons the Saints have no trouble keeping their high-octane offense going. His TD catching skills are great but his celebration dances are even better.

Apparently, Moore likes to dish out obscure dances and this beauty is being called the “Down The Way” and it’s one you must watch.

The good news is that ESPN has finally gotten over their loss of Brett Favre. It seemed the channel could do nothing but talk about him, no matter how mundane the task or news, at any given moment while Brett was in the league or thinking about retiring or thinking about coming back to the league.

Now ESPN has replaced their Favre void with Tim Tebow. I mean, seriously guys, there is other news. Each ESPN channel has unofficially turned into the Tim Tebow over-analysis channel and no one has talked more about Tebow more than Skip Bayless.

Well, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised by this since it’s such a big deal but up there in the Pacific Northwest there’s a new stud in town and it’s the hot running back Marshawn Lynch who has powered his Seahawks to wins in four of their last five games.

It hit big a few weeks back when video showed Marshawn Lynch enjoying a Skittle treat after a TD. Turns out his mother gives him a pack before each game to munch on after he scores.

That, of course, made headlines and now Skittles is offering to sponsor the quirky Lynch and his sweet tooth. But Seahawk fans are joining in as well. After his TD’s it appears to be a ‘thing’ now to toss Skittles on the field. I’d hate to have to clean up after that.

On Monday Night Football the ‘Hawks rolled easily over the Rams and the Skittles rained down.

Taste the beast mode. Taste the Rainbow.

Who knew they were the same thing?!

Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch has always been a quirky guy. But his love of the rainbow candy is one of the most unique things I’ve ever seen.

After this touchdown run Lynch finds his special bag of Skittles on the sidelines and enjoys a handful.

Turns out his mother gives him a bag before each game for him to have and on Thursday night we caught the ritual on camera.

Lynch had just turned on Beast Mode again and ran through a ton of Eagles on his way to the first score of the night. When the cameras returned the announcers pointed out the Skittles backstory and showed this nice clip.

Apparently, Lynch has his own Skittles assistant.

UPDATE: Apparantly, someone at the Skittles home office, which I assume is on a rainbow, saw the game last night. Skittles is offering Marshawn Lynch a 24-month free supply & a customized dispenser for his locker for last night’s exposure.

The 7-3 BYU Cougars are having a solid year and I know the secret. It’s not the high-flying offense that is getting the wins. It’s the fans!  They’re the driving force.

Since Mormons do not drink alcohol or caffeine I’m at a loss at what this dude is all geeked out on.  Maybe it’s just life. I would have guessed about a half-dozen Red Bulls and some Vodka.

Or maybe he’s just one of those happy guys who dances like this everywhere he goes.  And was that a chicken dance?

Check out this video of a Cougar fan tearing up the stands before kickoff and see for yourself if that’s true. It’s the feel-good video of the year!  It also begs the question, how long is that song?

I’ve never been a fan of Fireman Ed. I always thought he was kind of a douche who thinks he’s the official mascot of the Jets and that he owns the stadium. That’s why this video of Pats WR Deion Branch making fun of Ed is so delightful.

The best clip of the weekend, and one of my favorites for the year, occurred on Friday night’s game between BYU and TCU. After seeing Arkansas’ Marquel Wade’s Disgusting Hit, it’s nice to see something a bit more upbeat.

I’ve watching this video several times and it never gets old. In fact, I just love it more as Cougar quarterback Riley Nelson, just a bit excited after making a two-point conversion in the fourth quarter, high-fived the linesman signaling the touchdown!

In the NFL, Commissioner Roger Goodell might slap down a fine but I don’t think the NCAA will come down too hard on Nelson.

Nelson ended up passing for 215 yards and rushing for 84 more but TCU ended up winning the game 38-28.

I’ve seen some crazy fans in the stands but it’s hard to imagine the 66,000+ plus Virginia Tech fans rocking Lane Stadium like this. During the last few seconds of the game against the Miami “Thug U” Hurricanes, fans in the stands get jacked up to Metallica’s “Enter Sandman.”

And check out at 1:50 in the video as the cop throws a kid down to the ground that approaches the coach. Nice!
