Top 10 NFL Draft Busts [Gallery]
2000 No. 1 pick DE Courtney Brown, Cleveland Browns
(Penn State)
At the time, there was a ton of hype for Brown and his teammate LaVar Arrington. "Which teammate would go No. 1?" "Which teammate would be the better player?" At the time, Brown appeared to be a can't-miss prospect. He was a consensus All-American, First-team All-Big Ten and finished his career with 33 sacks and 70 tackles for loss. After a decent rookie year (70 tackles and 4.5 sacks), injuries began to plague his career. From 2002 to 2004, he only played in 26 games. Finally in 2006, he tore the ACL in his left knee and abruptly retired from the NFL.
Honorable mentions: No. 4 pick WR Peter Warrick, Cincinnati Bengals (Florida State); No. 10 pick WR Travis Taylor, Baltimore Ravens (Florida)
